Who are SQLskills?
We're different. We don't advise baseless operational/design best-practices. We explain everything, to whatever depth you want to go.
SQLskills.com is owned and run by world-renowned SQL Server experts Paul S. Randal
and Kimberly L. Tripp. The husband-and-wife team have over 30 years
combined experience working with all sizes of SQL Server databases, in organizations as diverse as Fortune-100 companies to small, single-database businesses.
Together they teach the storage internals, performance tuning, database design, database maintenance, and disaster recovery sections of Microsoft's most advanced course -
Microsoft Certified Master - SQL Server.
The newest addition to the SQLskills.com team, Brent Ozar, is recent successful graduate of
the MCM program from 2010. Brent is a very well-known and highly-respected SQL Server guru, specializing in performance tuning, storage systems, and virtualization.
With development expert Bob Beauchemin and BI expert
Stacia Misner, SQLskills.com teaches all of Microsoft's internal SQL Server
classes, to it's developers, DBAs, and other SQL Server experts. We are also tapped by Microsoft to author launch content, books, numerous whitepapers, technical articles,
and to consult on internal SQL Server projects.
Both Paul and Kimberly used to work on the SQL Server team (in fact, Paul wrote large portions of the SQL Server code and helped design many features through SQL server 2008).
Bob, Brent, Kimberly, Paul, and Stacia are all very seasoned, and consistently top-rated trainers and presenters at companies and conferences around the world.
You only want to work with the best - that's us - we really do know SQL Server inside and out!
But don't take our word for it, check out the new Past Customers page for clients and testimonials.
What's New with SQLskills? Brent Ozar joining the team!!
JUST ANNOUNCED: We've confirmed our next class is a 5-day BI Immersion Event in Bellevue, WA October 25-29 2010 Due to popular demand we've managed to squeeze
in another week-long class this Fall in Washington, taught by our BI expert Stacia Misner. This will follow our tried-and-tested 5-day format. See our
Immersion Events page for details and registration.
Send me email if you want to discuss DBA, BI, developer,
or internals training on 2005 or 2008. We can provide customized courses for your staff with a combination of teaching, consulting, and auditing.
As well as on-site work, we can provide cost-effective remote auditing services - database maintenance, HA/DR, performance, and more. Ranging from a comprehensive onsite
audit to just a few hours remote consulting time analyzing your practices, we can provide a thorough audit. See our consulting and
auditing pages for more details.
Lastly, as you'll see on our contact page, the easiest way to get hold of us is by email as we're not often in the office to answer the phone. If you do call, please leave
your email address in the message for the fastest response.
Thanks, Paul (August 24th 2010) Send email

SQL Immersion Events
After great reviews from our ealier SQL Immersion Events, be sure that SQLskills is planning more. We've already started to announce events
in 2010. Immersion Events are unique and individually planned seminars and workshops, with content
specifically created by database-related industry experts. The training materials are customized to provide deep coverage enabling attendees to
master the content. These RARE, small and intense events are the place to be for high quality SQL Server training.
Subscribers will be the first to know - and the first to be offered special discounts and incentives. Classes are limited to 36
attendees and often event/site specific limitations exist and many courses have a maximum of only 20 to 24. Be sure to register early as these classes have
sold out in the past.
